It’s Day 21 of “It’s Time to FLY.”  I’m convinced. The soaring life is a wonderful life. I love the idea of catching a gust of God’s grace and landing in someplace grand. Here are a few destinations I have in mind.

My plans coming together – quickly.

People I’d like to see more often.

Pleasant surprises beyond my wildest dreams.

And yet, this week’s focus is on yielding to the Lord completely.

“My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the Lord.
And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine.
For just as the heavens are higher than the earth,
so my ways are higher than your ways
and my thoughts higher than your thoughts. – Isaiah 55:8-9 NLT

Since His ways and thoughts are infinitely higher, His ways and thoughts are always best.

The soaring life is the surrendered life. It happens when all of my desires have a new Destination – the will of God.  But sometimes there is tension in my yield.  Can you feel it in your heart too?

His ways may be painful as we process them through our limited understanding. His thoughts may remain unknown as we wrestle with trusting what we cannot see. But we can always know His heart as we see Christ on the Cross.

God loves us far more than we can imagine. The soaring life is my best life.

What gives you strength to soar? What do you need to go higher in your flight plan?

  1. More faith to Fear not.
  2. More of God’s promises to Lean Hard.
  3. More encouragement to Yield Completely.

I continually need all three. And I’m excited as we discover more reasons to have hope in the heart and joy to the soul.
