I’m excited to have Christina Patterson sharing with us today.  She is the founder of Beloved Women, a non-profit providing resources and community for women to truly know who they are in Christ. I’m blessed by the wisdom she shares with us on today’s topic: Purpose. I believe you will be too. Thanks Christina!

The greatest mistake I made, when it comes to seeking God’s purpose for my life, was to downplay that purpose. I’ve been guilty of making statements like:

“I’m just a stay-at-home mom” or “I just run a little blog.”

I’ve since learned the word “just” is an enemy to our purpose. It causes us to lose sight of it’s true power. It doesn’t come from what we’re doing, when we’re doing it, or who we’re doing it with.

The power of our purpose comes from God alone and He’s not “just” any God.

He is the Lord Most High!

So we should honor Him by honoring whatever He calls us to do, no matter how small or grand it may seem. Remember, we don’t just serve the purpose, we serve the One who called us to the purpose.

For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.- Ephesians 2:10 NLT

  1. Ooh! Sweet message for sure and an adjective I’ve used to describe myself or many occasions. However, that said, I LOVE that you’re a stay at home mom who recognizes her worth and purpose. Oh, that we JUST had more moms praying for our families and our nation. Wouldn’t that be powerful!!

    1. Hi Karen, I agree! It’s always inspiring to hear someone embracing who God called them to be. It takes wisdom to balance the significance of our task with the God who calls us to the task. Christina’s words are powerful!

    2. Thank you Karen! This is one of the most important lessons I’ve learned as a stay-at-home mom. The Lord has shown me how high of a calling this is and I’m so honored to do it everyday. God bless you and thanks for joining the conversation 💜

  2. One important thing I learned from today’s lesson Christina is that we serve a mighty God! One God! If we put the love of God in our lives everyday, in everything we do, it will have a beautiful outcome. I made some lentil soup the other day and I prayed to God that it will come out good and it did. Everyone in my family enjoyed the lentil soup I made and gave me nothing but good compliments. I smiled and knew who to really thank. Our mission in life must be filled with the love of God. Remember we are all on a mission in life to help to spread God’s love in everything we do. Whether it’s taking a friend or neighbor to a doctor’s appointment or holding a door open for a family to enter a restaurant. This is Godly love which is Agape Love!

    1. Hi Hubert! God is so good — whether He’s blessing us with wisdom through Christina’s post or blessing your family with delicious lentil soup. Thank you for sharing your reflections!

  3. Short, sweet, but quite powerful. The things we feel are small are absolutely monumental to God and the seeds He is sowing for His kingdom. This is AWESOME!

    1. Hi Britza! Christina’s honesty is refreshing and reveals how easily we can underestimate God’s purpose. Thankfully, His truth always sets us free from our limited understanding. Blessings to you my friend. 🙂
