Initially, Brady and I didn’t realize the value of premarital counseling. But my pastor wouldn’t marry us without it. He was not impressed by our several years of dating or our being from the same hometown. Pastor Booth gave us a bible study entitled Your Marriage Can Be Beautiful. He...

Affirmation,  Lessons I've Learned (so far) Series
In John 8, the woman caught in adultery, often catches my attention. Her story highlights circumstances when human nature is not at its best. With her moral failure on public display, she lost her privacy and her dignity the moment she was exposed. Her accusers rushed to condemn her. It...

A commercial offering DNA research promises to reveal the roots of family trees. Clients look delighted. They smile next to a pie chart showing the content of their unique ethnicity.  It’s a growing trend. But what if the pie chart represented life experiences instead. Imagine seeing slices of how often...

As we adjust to life’s challenges, change can qu As we adjust to life’s challenges, change can quickly bring us to new and necessary conclusions. But before the summer ends (and as fall begins), is there something we need to surrender to God?

In part 2 of this year's "Joy to the Soul Summer" series, I'm sharing a book review on Surrendering Certainty, Hearing God Today by Letting Go of Tomorrow by @abbymcdonaldwriter.

Navigating relationships and hardships may mean I need more patience. Cultivating dreams or linking purpose to plans may require me to have more courage. Any of these things can easily fill our minds. But how easily do we hand them over to God?

Thankfully, Abby reminds us, "Jesus is not a Shepherd who leaves the pasture and expects us to have all the answers. He is the shepherd who stays, who guides us, and intercedes for us. He never stops."

Although His grace is a tremendous gift, how we view ourselves or others can complicate how we receive and share His grace.

On this audio teaching, my story of childhood trauma provided me with some insight into what it feels like to be gripped by something other than grace. Link in profile!

EXCITING NEWS!!! A few years ago, I, along with o EXCITING NEWS!!! A few years ago, I, along with other writers on @proverbs31ministries' @first5app, wrote a Bible teaching entitled "Praying Through the Psalms."

God moved powerfully through that experience, and many women were drawn to prayer and what the practice could look like in their lives.

As a result, Thomas Nelson has published the accompanying study guide to include the First 5 teachings. I'm honored to be a part of this collaboration, and the updated version is officially here!
