During my husband’s time in the Marine Corps, we arrived at a new duty station weeks before Christmas. A family invited us over for holiday dinner. I don’t recall the menu. However, their generosity stays with me.

Being in their home made me feel like kindness was a natural part of Christmas. However, in other homes, I realize Christmas memories are far from kind.

But When God our Savior revealed his kindness and love, he saved us, not because of the righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He washed away our sins, giving us a new birth and new life through the Holy Spirit. He generously poured out the Spirit upon us through Jesus Christ our Savior. (Titus 3:4โ€ญ-โ€ฌ6 NLT)โ€ฌโ€ฌโ€ฌโ€ฌโ€ฌโ€ฌโ€ฌโ€ฌโ€ฌ

When Christ was born, He would bring new birth to believing hearts. It wasn’t an earned kindness. It was sent by our kind God.

He generously poured His mercy and Spirit upon us, so every soul would be welcome at His table. The wealth of His compassion still flows. Every day.

If life has been tough or people are unkind, we might struggle with the idea of God’s mercy. And yet, through Christ, we can have a new perspective and “new life.” (2 Corinthians 5:17)

Have you received His kindness? If so, how will you share it with others?

Someone may need a meal, need a friend or they’ve yet to meet our kind God. Whether we share our time, resources or faith, His kindness reminds us, generosity matters.
