TWAS THE YEAR 2020, A YEAR OF GREAT VISION, when the world was exposed to coronavirus transmission.
Shaming and blaming became the quick fix. But such solutions proved the virus could not be tricked.
Shutdowns followed and masks were adorned. The economy tanked, just like economists warned.
The shutdowns lifted and we were relieved. But they came too soon, many health experts believed.
The summer contained caution thrown to the wind, as people missed their vacations, family and friends.
Maybe the vision we’re all supposed to see, is there’s not so much difference between you and me.
The lives lost overwhelm us with grief. Hence, a safe vaccine only brings partial relief.
Frontline workers do their best to serve. But we all have our part in flattening the curve.
Now a spike is upon us and statistics grow gloomy. Who can keep you and me from becoming Corona-looney?
If you wonder why God didn’t stop the pandemic, it’s not the only illness that has become systemic.
Racism, sexism and xenophobia rise. Surely, God desires to rid these too from our lives.
If we question His Sovereignty or doubt that He cares, there’s a solution for that. It is found everywhere.
His answer for us is found in Christ’s redemption. Instead of quick fixes, it comes with a condition.
As we believe on Jesus’s name for forgiveness of sin, all kinds of peace to our soul begins to rush in.
I hope you have something you count as a blessing. We all need a break from what could be distressing.
