A commercial offering DNA research promises to reveal the roots of family trees. Clients look delighted. They smile next to a pie chart showing the content of their unique ethnicity. It’s a growing trend.
But what if the pie chart represented life experiences instead. Imagine seeing slices of how often we’ve been lonely, successful or brave.
I’ve been all those things and more and less.
Yet, the beauty of God’s love is that He loves us — broken segments and all. Even when I’m “acting out” of my issues, He sees the inward ache of my heart.
But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners. – Romans 5:8 NLT
Having received His great love, the unique blend of my life’s experiences becomes more than percentages of good or bad days or my DNA. From how he’s wired me to bless others to where I struggle to face a problem, God meets me in my unique.
He meets you in yours too.
A complicated past or uncertainty about the future become a magnet to His grace.
Is there an area of your life where you feel like you’re the only one or the failing one?
Let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness.- Colossians 2:7 NLT
As my life is built on Christ, I’ve learned there is a significant testimony being built. His grace gives us room to grow and strength to stand, as a unique expression of being part of His family.
Now all of us can come to the Father through the same Holy Spirit because of what Christ has done for us…You are members of God’s family. – Ephesians 2:18-20 NLT
