Guest Writers,  Joy to The Soul Summer
β€œDear friend, I hope all is well with you and that you are as healthy in body as you are strong in spirit.” (3 John 1:2 NLT) The laid-back vibe of summer isn’t complete until I’ve spent time with good friends. I’m happy to do that this week with Tyra Lane-Kingsland,...

Catching Up To Jesus

Living With Purpose
As the youngest of four children, I know a lot about catching up. My sisters, Gail and Jackie, and my brother Michael, are at least four years my elder. I constantly reached for hands much larger than my own.Β  My feet often scampered in pursuit of my siblings’ longer strides....

Live Your Joy Story
Whether we’ve sat in the same rooms or stared at the same problem, we’re probably ready to see something new. Our needs and preferences may vary. But by all accounts this is a season of unique challenges. And yet, by God’s grace, it’s also a season for spiritual growth. Isaiah...

Living With Purpose
A recent conversation with a friend revolved around our mutual meltdown. Few areas in our lives were issue-free; but it felt like if “one thing” was fixed, everything else would be better. If you have one too, it’s often the part of our lives that could make our day, but it...

A Season of Waiting,  Affirmation,  BECOMING More Series
If you’re a fellow one-word enthusiast, you know you don’t choose your word. It chooses you. “Becoming” acknowledges I’m a work in progess. It’s both gutsy and honest, as I’m transformed by God’s grace. But distractions are my nemesis. As I consider my list of must-do and want-to-dos, priorities shift....

Becoming Less Resistant to Change

BECOMING More Series
When this Becoming More series began, I planned post titles from January to December. This week’s post wasn’t one of them. Things change. In fact, a tug on my resistance to change was becoming more persistent in my heart. I sensed God pursuing my need to let some things go...

Learning to Wait with A Good Heart

A Season of Waiting
The power of a story wasn’t lost on Jesus. When people had questions about God’s Kingdom or needed life lessons, the Prince of Peace was also a master at parables. One of my favorites is “The Seed and The Sower” in Luke 8. It shows how God’s Word (the seed)...

When I shop, boho jewelry and anything denim have When I shop, boho jewelry and anything denim have a magnetic pull on my purse strings. But about a year ago, something different drew me in. A mug with its soft edges and soft ecru color featured 3 words. Pray. Wait. Trust.

As it pulled on my heart strings, the magnet worked. I quickly placed the mug in my cart and made my way to the cashier. I looked forward to drinking from the cup and considering each word β€” one sip at a time. But a closer look took me beyond my cup. These 3 words made me reflect on the life of Christ.

Reflections of His life and how it impacts ours is often the focus during this Lenten season. But we can reap the benefits of reflecting on Jesus any day of the year.

Join me on the blog this week and discover what can happen: "Growing Our Faith One Sip at a Time" (an invitation from me and my mug). πŸ’•

When we lean into God's calling, we still have to When we lean into God's calling, we still have to learn His way to live in the privilege of what He calls us to do.

It's great when we connect with people who seek to do the same. It happened at the "God's Call, God's Way Prayer Breakfast" yesterday!

I'm grateful for an awesome time of prayer, fellowship, and reflection. We were tremendously blessed by praise and worship led by @deborahmooremusic.

Thanks so much to those who attended and for those who prayed for our gathering!πŸ™πŸ½πŸ’• #joytothesoul #liveyourjoystory
