In June, I attended the Entrusted Women conference. The gathering of Christian communicators of color was brimming with inspiring speakers and informative workshops.

Friendships formed. Networking deepened. Prayers erupted and availed much.

As I search my heart for takeaways, an abundance of riches surface.

One of the treasures is Jevon Bolden’s book, Pray Hear Write: 21 Days of Prayer and Fasting for Breakthrough in Your Writing.

If you’re a writer, it’s hard to miss the divine coaching in these pages. If you have other aspirations, the “hear, pray, obey” principle still applies.

The book spoke to me as a writer, most profoundly. But it also spoke to me about how being a writer impacts my life as a wife, mother, sister and friend.

There’s likely a passion or person in your life declaring you’re entrusted too.

We’re all called to love someone.

Promote a cause.

Find our voice.

Make a difference.

We can know we’re doing God’s work when His Word is our instruction and His glory is our goal. It’s not uncommon for the assignment to feel like more than we can handle or more than we deserve.

But nonetheless, we’re entrusted.

Every day in every circumstance we are invited to encounter grace and truth in Christ. He doesn’t give us a task and tell us to go it alone or to be perfect.

“We now have this light shining in our hearts, but we ourselves are like fragile clay jars containing this great treasure. This makes it clear that our great power is from God, not from ourselves” (2 Corinthians 4:7 NLT).

Whatever we’re entrusted to do, it takes trusting Him to do it. Some days it might feel like a “great treasure.”  Other days, we’re more aware of our fragility.  Either way, He makes it clear, “our great power is from God, not from ourselves.”

That’s a relief.

What has God entrusted to you?

I find the path to fulfilling godly purpose is not for the faint at heart.

It is for the faithful heart.

It’s for the heart that knows getting back up is just as important as where or how we fall down. It’s for a heart longing to know God and longing for others to know Him too.

However, when the weight of responsibility is heavy, I know time is of the essence.

It’s time to lay down the burden of feeling bitter, overworked or unworthy. It’s time to embrace the honor of joining Him in His work and rest in His faithfulness to complete it.

It’s time to silence fear and let faith have the final say.

Let’s pray. Hear. Obey. Be encouraged. You’re entrusted.

God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him” (Philippians 2:13 NLT).

    1. Hi Lisa! God’s grace is a gift I don’t always tap into either. Prayerfully, just knowing it exist in abundance will help me tap into it more often.
