A Season of Waiting,  BECOMING More Series
I love trying a new recipe. It may be a different twist on an old favorite or a new favorite in the making. My latest attempt was a breakfast casserole. It required placing unbaked crescent rolls (an old favorite) on the bottom of a baking pan. Next, I poured a...

Living With Purpose,  Prayer Life
During a recent struggle with a situation, I sat stunned. I’m not at liberty to share the details, but it felt like I’d been hit by a phaser from a Sci-Fi movie. Trying to make sense out of what refused to line-up with logic, tears blurred my vision and fatigue...

Affirmation
In June, I attended the Entrusted Women conference. The gathering of Christian communicators of color was brimming with inspiring speakers and informative workshops. Friendships formed. Networking deepened. Prayers erupted and availed much. As I search my heart for takeaways, an abundance of riches surface. One of the treasures is Jevon...

A Season of Waiting
The power of a story wasn’t lost on Jesus. When people had questions about God’s Kingdom or needed life lessons, the Prince of Peace was also a master at parables. One of my favorites is “The Seed and The Sower” in Luke 8. It shows how God’s Word (the seed)...

Living With Purpose
As I continue to look at 3 ways to focus on renewal, I see Christ in the Garden of Gethsemane. He fiercely resisted every reason to say “No” to dying for our sins on the Cross. Luke 22:39-42 gives us the details. Jesus was in such “agony of spirit,” His...

All Things New
For Christians around the world, Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of the Lenten season. The ashes symbolize our repentance as we reflect on the 40 days (not counting Saturdays and Sundays) leading up to Christ dying for our sins. But there is more. It is common to “give up” or...

Living With Purpose
Anxiety chases me like a lion tracking down its next meal. As soon as something nerve-racking happens, the juices in my gut start to churn and I can almost hear anxiety growling. But as I resist it, there’s a greater churn in my soul. Be still and know I am...

In Difficult Times
There’s something powerful about praising God; especially, when it feels like we have nothing left. Delighting in Him pushes logic off the cliff of reason when we there is no patience, energy, resources or vision of a would-be victory. And yet, even if there’s no fruit from our labor, no...

When I shop, boho jewelry and anything denim have When I shop, boho jewelry and anything denim have a magnetic pull on my purse strings. But about a year ago, something different drew me in. A mug with its soft edges and soft ecru color featured 3 words. Pray. Wait. Trust.

As it pulled on my heart strings, the magnet worked. I quickly placed the mug in my cart and made my way to the cashier. I looked forward to drinking from the cup and considering each word β€” one sip at a time. But a closer look took me beyond my cup. These 3 words made me reflect on the life of Christ.

Reflections of His life and how it impacts ours is often the focus during this Lenten season. But we can reap the benefits of reflecting on Jesus any day of the year.

Join me on the blog this week and discover what can happen: "Growing Our Faith One Sip at a Time" (an invitation from me and my mug). πŸ’•

When we lean into God's calling, we still have to When we lean into God's calling, we still have to learn His way to live in the privilege of what He calls us to do.

It's great when we connect with people who seek to do the same. It happened at the "God's Call, God's Way Prayer Breakfast" yesterday!

I'm grateful for an awesome time of prayer, fellowship, and reflection. We were tremendously blessed by praise and worship led by @deborahmooremusic.

Thanks so much to those who attended and for those who prayed for our gathering!πŸ™πŸ½πŸ’• #joytothesoul #liveyourjoystory
